Abundance of the universe - Do we understand - Do we “have” to?

Scientists view our universe, at least the earth, as a closed system. Every molecule that is here has been here for all time. We do get material from space and energy from the sun. The view is that there is a limit to the resources available for us all. This is an unfortunate and prevalent view especially in North America. The view of finite resources has led many to believe that when one person or group gets more then there is less for other groups and people. This view or concept is call “zero sum economics”. Zero sum because for every bit you get, someone else loses a bit. You get $10,000 and someone else must have lost, therefore negative, $10,000. If you add your gain and their loss - you get zero for a net change. This is a scientific view. It is logical and defensible? Is it really the way the world has to work? Perhaps scientists don’t fully understand the mechanics of creation. Perhaps it is within our power or God’s power to create more? Perhaps we create more out of nothing but space dust and sunlight?  It doesn’t really matter where the “extra” comes from. What is important is the realization and belief that there is enough for everyone.

Try this:

Believe that you can have more and your neighbor can have more. Believe that everyone in the world deserves and can have more. Belief starts the cycle of creation that is manifested by forces that science does not understand.
