Keep moving - the direction you want to go

Life is about progress and learning. As long as you are alive you are living. As long as you are living then you are leaving the past behind and moving toward the future. Use a measure, like how happy you are and chart your progress. Yesterday or last week you were happy x amount. Today you are happy another amount. If you drew this out would your line go up, down or about the same? By whatever measure you choose, your life is changing. You’re either happier, having more fun, accomplishing more of your goals, or you’re not. Very seldom in life do things go on about the same. Have you heard the expression, “God can’t move a parked car?” It means that you have to be trying for something to happen. “Direct” might be a better word than “move”. It’s another way of saying, “God helps those that help themselves”. It means you are responsible for your progress. If you choose to do nothing then the distance you travel along your path isn’t very far. God can’t make you pray, for example. Many of us have goals that will take days, years, or maybe even a lifetime. A journey around the world is accomplished one step at a time. Frustration and fear are obstacles in our path. You can let them be road blocks or you can confront and eliminate them bit by bit. You can do it by yourself. You can muster your strength and intellect and overcome practically anything. You can also use your whole self, your intellect, your animal self, the part of you that makes your eyes tear “for no reason” and your higher self, your connection to the infinite power. It’s your choice. You get to choose how you live your life. You get to choose how much power you use. Every moment of every day you have choices. You get to choose how much you want to focus or let your mind wander. You get to choose how long you will let a thought stay in your head or if you release it and make room for a new thought. You choose whether you will move toward your goal or take a moment to build strength. Stopping to build strength may be moving toward your goal. Your goal may be to build strength. Keep moving means thinking about where you have been, where you are coming from, where you are and where you want to go. Chart your progress as validation for the speed and direction of your journey.

Try This:

Write down your goals. Write down your accomplishments. Try to quantify something important to you like your happiness and chart it. Are you happier today than you were yesterday? Are you moving at the rate you want to move? Are you using resources that are available to you, like your Higher Power, to accomplish what you want from life? Write down your thoughts - journal your journey.
