Breathe and breathing

Breath is essential for life. Breath is power. Breathing is a way to take in and use the life force. Of course scientist understand that part that oxygen plays in metabolizing energy in our bodies. Obviously the physical mechanics of taking in oxygen and releasing carbon monoxide is important to our bodies. Breathing does something else. It revitalizes our souls with positive energy.

Try a little experiment for a couple of minutes. First don’t think about your breathe and quiet and relax yourself for 30 seconds or so. Try and become as peaceful as you can. Now take another 30 seconds and continue what your are thinking or not thinking to relax yourself and breathe. Breathe deeply and quietly in through your nose and out through your mouth. Try another minute; 30 seconds without breathing and 30 seconds with rhythmic breathing. Did you notice a difference? The more you breathe the more physical and mental power you have.

Try this:

Aikido yoga breathing. Breathe rhythmically every chance you get. Make chances to breath rhythmically. In Aikido yoga one does fast rhythmic breathing. While doing repetitions of trunk twists, for example, count “one and two and three and … 10 and” .  Exhale each time you say “and”. Each number is automatically an inhale. You count to “ten and” then start back at “one and”. Next time you’re walking to your car or climbing stairs between office floors or cross-country skiing try this Aikido yoga breathing technique. “Ai”  means “unity”" and “do” means “path” or “way” thus, Aikido as a discipline represents the “path” or “way” of realizing the unity and interrelationship of the life energy of all beings and of promoting this harmony. Breathe rhythmically. Use life energy. Promote harmony.
