Fall 2009 Maines and Keysers took country western lessons at TJC from Chelsea and Tommy. We learned a sequence of fifteen figures. The same sequence can be used for 2 step and country waltz. Figures conveniently brake into 3 sets of 5 figures. Amount of turn is usually for the lady except when “Man” in hints.
For the waltz (and the Two-Step), pass your feet every step, all turns are on the 1-2-3, with recovery on the 4-5-6. Steps are medium, small, small. Waltz is elegant and restrained. As you get more comfortable, You can implement rise and fall in the waltz with the footwork heal-toe, toe, toe-heal on 1-2-3 & 4-5-6
